Georgetown’s Student Veteran Organization (SVO) Wins National Title of SVO of the Year

On January 7th, Georgetown’s Student Veteran Organization (SVO) GUSVA was selected from over 1,500 SVOs for the national title of 2022 Student Veteran Organization of the year.

SVO’s are nominated for the award based on their commitment to collaboration with campus partners, service to the greater campus community, and dedication to advancing military-connected students in higher education. The award defines the characteristics of a model SVO—a beacon all SVO’s should strive towards.

I hope you all will join the MAVRC in recognizing the hard work of GUSVA—especially their President—Nick Mararac. Nick has led this organization to success while balancing his role as a Doctoral student and working in the Military and Veteran Resource Center.
